Comprehensive Screening Approach For Sickle Cell Elimination Programme
Science House implemented a meticulously designed door-to-door approach, reaching communities far and wide. Since the program's commencement in July 2023, we have:
- Screened over 8 million individuals using advanced diagnostic tools
- Identified 0.3% as sickle cell patients and 2% as carriers, facilitating early intervention and ongoing management
Empowering Communities with Sickle Cell Status ID Card
Launched by honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi
To enhance disease tracking and management, the Science House team has issued Sickle Cell Status ID Cards to individuals identified as patients or carriers. These cards serve as powerful tools in the fight against SCD, providing:
- Personalized Health Insights: Enabling informed healthcare and lifestyle decisions.
- QR Code Access to Online Counseling: This innovative feature includes a genetic self-counseling tool that adheres to NHM India guidelines, empowering individuals to make well-informed decisions, even in matters such as marriage, to minimize genetic risks for future generations.
